Inhalation therapies

Inhalation therapies

Recommended for respiratory diseases. Each session consists of 10 minutes of inhalation (direct hot-humid spray with steam equipment, recommended for upper respiratory tract diseases) and 10 minutes of aerosol (the mostly finely fractionated thermal water is able to reach the pulmonary alveoli).

There is also the possibility of paying for micronised showers (the thermal water particles are larger than those in the traditional aerosol and are pressurised directly into the nostrils).

Therapeutic inhalation therapy recommended for: Chronic inflammation of the upper airways, catarrhal otitis media, chronic otosalpingitis, vasomotor rhinopathy, chronic bronchitis, and chronic pharyngitis.

Thermal Inhalation

This method uses devices that fragment the mineral water into particles, forming a hot-humid steam spray that is inhaled by the patient. Each session lasts about 10-15 minutes. They are particularly recommended for in the upper respiratory tract diseases, such as
rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, and tracheitis for example.

Thermal aerosol

Made up of fine particles of mineral water that are able to reach the distal branches of the respiratory tree as well as the pulmonary alveoli. Depending on what disease is being treated and the discretion of the physician, the patient uses a mask or a forked nasal tube connected to the dispenser. The choice is made in relation to the main area you want to affect (nasal, pharyngeal, etc.). Each session lasts about 10-15 minutes. They are particularly

recommended for lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis. With a medical prescription, it is possible to use a specific water soluble medication (medical aerosol).

Micronised thermal nasal shower

Produces abundant nebulisation that performs a thorough wash of nasal secretions and the paranasal sinuses. Frees catarrhal secretions and allows an intense absorption of the active ingredients contained in thermal water as well as performing a deep local cleansing and humidifying action. The result is an immediate fluidisation of the catarrhal secretions present in the nasal cavity and in the pharynx and nasopharynx. Recommended for all catarrhal diseases of the nose and throat, and the sinuses.

  • It is not possible to access inhalation therapy without first paying a visit to our in-house physician.

  • Patients should strictly adhere to the therapeutic regimens prescribed by the spa physician and the operators.

  • To achieve the proper results, patients should perform therapies on 12 consecutive days.

  • "District thermal crisis" is a relapse sensation that may occur, involving the temporary recurrence of acute illness symptoms: congestion of the mucous membranes (blocked nose), increased secretions, coughs, headaches, and fatigue. These symptoms do not affect the results of inhalation therapies and tend to disappear in a couple of days without requiring special treatment. Sometimes it may be useful to suspend the treatment for two or three days.

Inhalation treatments take place at the following times:

From Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 12.00

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 14.00 to 16.30

If you have special requirements, speak to the staff to request and agree upon different times for treatment.

It is possible to perform two thermal inhalation treatments per day provided that you leave a couple of hours between the first and second treatments.

Everything you need will be provided by the staff.
